A Correction to Our Memory...

The image

Last time, we wrote that the new bookstore (presently being installed in the green storefront, above) had been the location of Wulfekammer's Shoe Store.

Well, our memory must be failing a little, because a note recently appeared in the window of the Lexington Trails Regional Library (just to the left of the new bookstore):

During the 1930's the Wulfekammer Shoe Store occupied this building. A few years later, Morris Maytag Company moved in. Unfortunately, the building burned in 1967. Larry Hunton bought the building, restored it, and opened his furniture business here. In the spring of 1985, the building became home to LEXINGTON TRAILS REGIONAL LIBRARY.

...Is that right? We really thought the green storefront was where Wulfekammer's was. Any local historians out there want to pronounce on this, one way or the other?
