Main Street in the '20s
Photo courtesty Jan Tubiolo

Jan Tubiolo sent us this picture recently and said, "[This photo] is a real treasure, showing mainstreet from the north-east corner of 12th Street, looking across at Hix Bros. store.  It didn't copy well, but note all the old Model-T's and Model A's parked along the street; I suspect the postcard is from the mid-late 20's.   That's just a guess, but my grandad had a '36 Ford and it was much more modern than these cars."

Old City Hall

Another postcard view of the old City Hall, now dubbed Lafayette Hall. The recent restoration looks very like this painting. And please note that the dome isn't red, as in a German-painted postcard we displayed recently!
