Tasty Lunch goes Uptown

Here is an interesting before-and-after presentation. The photo above, taken circa 1999, shows the Tasty Lunch/Dragon's Den/Dave's Cafe in a somewhat forlorn and abandoned state. What had been a hub of activity for nearly 80 years, the "slop shop" was awaiting new life.

And here is its present incarnation, as Simonetti's. The entrance remains in the same location. The doors and windows in the middle, to the left of the front door, today conceal a charming piazza for dining al fresco. (The history of this location is contained in the body of TLC #89.)
